HOW LONG WILL MY APPOINTMENT TAKE?
It is a 15 minute appointment.

WHAT IS THE BEST DAY TO SPRAY FOR MY EVENT?
You will always have your best color in the first 4-5 days after a spray tan. It is recommended that you spray two days prior to an event (i.e. spray on Thursday for a Saturday event).

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Preparation is essential to a flawless tan. We sell a Prep Kit with step-by-step instructions to make it simple for you. It is not mandatory to purchase the kit, however it contains a body cleanser and buttercream moisturizer formulated specifically for spray tanning. Email us at info@glocustomspraytanning.com if you would like to purchase a kit and we will be in touch to coordinate pick up.
Prior to your appointment,
-Shave your legs and arm pits if applicable.
-Exfoliate your skin. This ensures that solution is sprayed on fresh, new skin.
-Hydrate your skin in the days leading up to your spray.
-Remove makeup and deodorant prior to or at your appointment. Wipes are provided at the salon, so it is fine to remove at your appointment.
-Bring loose clothing to put on after your spray tan.

WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE WAXING AND/OR NAIL APPOINTMENTS?
It is recommended that you wax at least 24 hours prior to any spray appointment. Nail appointments are fine before and after, however if you plan to get a foot soak pedicure we recommend doing that prior to spraying. Solution will not stain your nails.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SOLUTION TO PICK?
It is our job to ensure your are sprayed with the perfect solution. This will be decided at your appointment.

WHAT DO I WEAR?
Wear as much or as little clothing during the spray as you like, keeping tan lines in mind. Bottoms are required. Pasties are provided. Bring loose clothing to put on after your service.

WILL THE SOLUTION STAIN MY CLOTHES OR BED SHEETS?
Solution typically washes out of fabric without issue. We recommend wearing dark/older undergarments during the service just to be safe. Solution should not get on sheets unless you sweat. If this occurs, it's our experience that is washes out just fine.

HOW LONG WILL MY TAN LAST?
Spray tan results are extremely individual based on the rate at which your skin exfoliates. On average, fully exfoliated skin will not exfoliate itself again for about 7-10 days. With diligent prep and aftercare, this is how long you can expect your spray tan to last.

HOW LONG AFTER MY SPRAY BEFORE I CAN SHOWER?
We recommend a warm water rinse within 5-7 hours, followed by your full shower routine after 24 hours. Avoid getting wet or sweating until your processing time has passed.

HOW DO I EXTEND THE LIFE OF MY TAN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE?
During this time, avoid using scrubs and loofas. Use a new razor to shave. Patting dry after a shower will also help. Be gentle on your skin. As certain oils in lotions and soaps will strip or streak your color, keep your skin hydrated with salon-approved moisturizer or a lotion like Aveeno. Avoid highly fragranced lotions.

DO I STILL NEED TO WEAR SUNSCREEN WITH A SPRAY TAN?
YES. Always use sunscreen for protection from harmful UV-rays.

WILL CHLORINE AND/OR SALTWATER AFFECT MY TAN?
While Glo sprays many clients for vacations, chlorine and salt water can affect tan longevity. Most customers are choosing to spray anyway for vacation so they have color for those first days in their bathing suits and shorts!

WHAT IS THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT IN SOLUTION?
DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is the active ingredient in the spray tanning solution. It is a colorless chemical derived from glycerin that interacts with amino acids in the skin cells to produce a browning color change to the skin. The FDA authorizes external use of this ingredient for cosmetic purposes. Nose plugs are provided to every client.

CAN I SPRAY TAN IF I AM PREGNANT?
If you are pregnant or think that you may be, it is always recommended that you consult with your physician prior to getting a spray tan.

IS SPRAY TANNING SOLUTION ORGANIC?
It is impossible to find 100% organic solution, however, the solutions Glo has chosen to use are over 99% organic and derived from natural ingredients.
